The outbuilding before any renovation began.
We covered over the old door opening and installed a new front door facing the parking lot.
We removed the old slider barn door.
The construction materials arrived.
We covered over the barn door opening adding some windows.
While contractors did all the renovation work, I was in charge of most of the painting.
The next task was to put in insullation on the inside walls.
Then the interior walls were added.
I polyurethaned the interior walls.
Insulation was also added to the ceiling.
Since the main building does not have storage space, we added one addition to store cases of books and a second smaller addition to store rock inventory.
New lighting was added to the walls and ceiling.
Structure for a drop-down ceiling was installed.
Work on the two additions continued.
I painted the front door, two exterior doors for the additions, and two interior doors allowing access to the additions from the main rock shop room.
I also painted all the trim boards.
My contractor put up the trim.
Wooden forms for the concrete were installed.
The same contractor that installed my new parking lot also put concrete around the building and in the two additions.
I was going to wait to install a new roof, but we found a leak and decided to do it at the same time as everything else.
An air conditioning/heat pump split was installed.
We painted the floor with a copper-colored concrete paint and clear top coat.
Finally, storm doors were added to the three exterior doors.
